New Mexico Children, Youth, and Families Department has been under fire for years of failing children in New Mexico, under Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham. Now, going into her last year in office, the governor is taking steps in the oversight of the agency. She has appointed a leader of an oversight department that still must be created, along with its budget, during the legislature.
